46. Government Pavilions Peak (Water carriage system) $1,100.—Required
for the installation of the water carriage system.
47. Improvements to Mountain Lodge $5,500. This vote is required for out- houses to the Laundry, and a Tennis Pavilion, both being very desirable improvements.
48. New Electrical Installation for Waglan Lighthouse $6,850.-Owing to ad- ditional requirements the present plant is not powerful enough to take the extra load. The vote is for the installation of a more powerful piant.
49. Polic Head Quarters, Central (Removal of C.D.I. Office, alterations to
buildings and constructing of opices $10,000 --The proposal is to sub divide two of the large dormitories on the top floor of the New Block into offices for the C.D.1. and sundry other alterations to the old Building in order to adapt it for Dormitory accommodation.
50. Traffic Lights and Danger Signals $2,000.-—It is found necessary to extend
and improve the present system due to increased motor traffic.
51. Pedestal Hydrants $10,000.--This vote is required for the extension of
the present system of hydrants as required by the Fire Brigade.

52. Gas Cookers and Geysers-Government Quarters
Government Quarters nave had these mutings installed by the Gas Com- pany. The vole is required to purchase these fittings in cases where it is considered desirable.
53. Victoria Guol-new floor to "F" Hall $2,800.--This work consists of the replacement of an old and unsatisfactory wooden floor by one of remforced
concrete.
54. Additional storey to quarters, cookhouse, Victoria Gaol $2,500. This vote is for an additional storey to the cookhouse building of the European Warders Quarters to provide additional Servants accommodation.
55. Furniture $20,000. This vote is necessary to meet the demands of all Government Departments for new furniture and fittings to offices and quarters.
56. Upkeep of Government undeveloped sites $5,000.-This vote is to meet the cost of maintaining the various Government sites that have been partly developed but on which work, for various reasons, has been held up.
WATER WORKS.
57. Installation of Turbines and Pump at Bowen Road Filter Beds $20,000.- An economical method of raising water to the higher levels which will re- duce the amount of water to be pumped at the Pokfulum Road Pumping Station, thus saving fuel costs (coal).
58. New Principal Mains in City $20,000.—For general improvements to dis-
tribution system.
59. New Supply main from Peak Tank to Victoria Gap $8,000.-—The present
pipe has been found to be inadequate owing to development.

Sub-head 60. Water Supply to New Tung Wah Hospital Site (Eastern) $5,500.—This
amount provides for a water supply to the new hospital.

per supply of the District.
PORT WORKS.
Fraya East Reclamation :-
62. Contribution by Government towards funds for Reclamation $129,000.-
To provide Government's share of forming the Reclamation based on the revised estimate. This constitutes the final payment.
63. Morrison Hill Development, Roads, Retaining Walls and Drains $15,000. -This work comprises the alterations to roads necessitated by the excava- tions at Morrison Hill-including retaining walls, road widenings and im- provements. The vote is required for the completion of the work.
64. Construction of nullah through Bowrington Canal from South of Praya to Leighton Hill Road $25,000. This work is for finishing off the nullah which it was hoped to complete in 1928.
65. Dust Pier. (a) Centre Street $7,000.-(b) Widening Shoots $2,500.
These two items are necessary for providing improved facilities to dealing with the increasing amount of scavenging to be transported.
PUBLIC HEALTH AND BUILDINGS ORDINANCE.

66. Resumption for road widening scheme approved by Government as
building occur $75,000.-As the reconstruction of old buildings takes place advantage is taken to resume portions of property required to permit of road widening. This vote provides the necessary funds for this purpose.

Sub-head 67. Lock up Store. Taumati Slipway, $2,500,-This vote provides for pay-
ment of Retention Money. The work will be completed in 1928.

68. Raising of Time Ball Tower $705-This vote provides for payment of
Retention Money. The work will be completed in 1928.
69. Neir Government Store at Hung Hom $50,000--This work is very neces-
sary for the efficient handling of Government Stores.
70. Public Latrine and Bath House at Dock Lane $27,000-This work is con- sidered essential by the Sanitary Department and has been long delayed.
71. Extension to Quarters. Tsim Sha Tsui Fire Station $9,500,--To provide necessary additional accommodation for European Officers by extending the existing flat.
72. Levelling for future buildings and the erection of additional wards at Kow- loon Hospital $60,000.—To proceed with the very necessary extension of this hospital.
